  Applications

With the embedded 32-bit RISC processor NX3320 carries out all the tasks for enjoying DMB services, from RF IC control to the video and audio output management and data service decoding. Effort to add a DMB feature to mobile terminals therefore can be alleviated considerably in terms of software as well as hardware. Even the advanced functionalities, for example time-shift, live-rewind, and file-playback, could be easily implemented using the high level API¡¯s provided.

Mobile Phone with T-DMB

The block diagram below shows a configuration of T-DMB enabled mobile phones. With NX3320 and a RF IC, T-DMB can be enjoyed in the mobile phone. In the voice call mode MSM can directly manage the frame buffer in the LCD module as usual since NX3320 opens the CPU interface to the LCD module. While watching T-DMB, on the other hand NX3320 updates the frame buffer 30 frames per second by itself. If a TV encoder is connected to NX3320, the same DMB video can be played on a TV.

Mobile Phone with Dual Mode DMB

Premium channels in S-DMB can be also available on the T-DMB phone with NX3320 as illustrated below.

Convergence Device with T-DMB

Personal media players (PMPs), portable game consoles, and telematics terminals are a few of leading products in rapidly emerging digital convergence market. NX3320 is able to reinforce the convergence device with T-DMB feature in reduced development time.

Along with the AVC based video service, T-DMB would deliver plenty of useful contents using either BIFS or MOT, TDC, IP tunneling on the data service channel. NX3320 is able to extract and decode the BIFS stream out of the video service. Some of data service, such as TPEG, SLS, DLS are also supported.

Low End T-DMB Receiver

Using NX3320 with a few components, such as RF IC, flash memory, key matrix, LCD module or panel, and an audio DAC, a low end T-DMB receiver can be developed.
